Bookstalls lining the sidewalks, special promotions, and a rich cultural program accompanied the constant flow of readers who explored the area throughout the afternoon. “Seeing so many people on the street visiting bookstores confirms the strong bond porteños have with books and the joy of reading,” said Head of Government of Buenos Aires Jorge Macri, who visited the event along with Minister of Economic Development Hernán Lombardi.

Macri highlighted that the 2025 edition grew “in attendance and territorial reach,” framing the event within a month of intense cultural and tourist activity in the city. The city reported a 94% hotel occupancy rate—the highest of the year—and an estimated economic impact of 360 million dollars.

Minister of Culture of the City, Gabriela Ricardes, also participated in the tour and emphasized the event's identity: “What we experienced tonight once again confirms that Buenos Aires has a unique relationship with books. Seeing the bookstores full and the stages with an audience speaks of a city that reads, that meets, and that celebrates its cultural identity in every corner.”

With simultaneous activities, author appearances, and massive public participation, the Night of the Bookstores reaffirmed its place as one of the most popular cultural celebrations on the city's calendar. Over 70 bookstores and cultural spaces took part in the event, which included presentations, book signings, workshops, debates, family-friendly activities, and events at notable bars.

The traditional Corrientes Avenue concentrated most of the programming, with six stages set up between Cerrito and Callao.

The City of Buenos Aires once again confirmed its historic connection to books. The fifteenth edition of the Night of the Bookstores brought together more than 200,000 people on Corrientes Avenue and in the new neighborhood circuits added this year, according to the Buenos Aires Ministry of Culture.
